what we know about you (not much)

Last updated: March 2, 2026

The short version

We don't know who you are. We don't want to know who you are. regret.club is built to be anonymous by design.

What we collect

When you post a regret

  • Your regret text and chosen category
  • A one-way hash of your session — this lets us show you which posts are yours, but we can't reverse it to identify you
  • The timestamp of your post

When you react or comment

  • Your reaction or comment text
  • A session hash (same as above)

When you contact us

  • Your name (optional), email address, and message
  • This is the only time we collect identifiable information, and only because you choose to provide it

Automatically

  • Your IP address — used solely for rate limiting to prevent abuse. We don't store or log IP addresses beyond what's needed for this purpose
  • A session cookie — keeps your browser session alive. It expires when you close your browser or after the session timeout

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, no usernames, no passwords
  • No tracking pixels or analytics scripts
  • No advertising cookies
  • No third-party data sharing
  • No fingerprinting

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep the platform functioning. That's it. No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies, no cookie banners needed.

Data retention

Regrets, reactions, and comments are stored indefinitely unless removed through moderation. Contact messages are stored until they've been addressed. Session data expires automatically.

Data deletion

Since posts are anonymous and not linked to any account, there's no profile to delete. If you need specific content removed, contact us .

Children

regret.club is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
